QA Procedure – BeConnected

BeConnected did in August 2013, introduce a new Quality Assurance step in our workflow.
And as of August 2014 BeConnected started using MemoQ for all projects.

For all our freelancers this will change the previous QA procedure.
From now on, all freelancers are required to run a QA check in MemoQ.

To run the QA check in MemoQ, do the following:

  1. When you are done with translation/proofreading, mark all file(s).
  2. Right click and choose “Tasks” and then “Run QA.
  3. In the window that pops up, choose Check Documents and Selected documents, and make sure Proceed to resolve warning after QA, and Create view of inconsistencies are marked. Then click OK.
  4. This will open a separate window with any QA issues.
  5. Either correct the errors directly in the top window, or if the errors are false, mark them as Ignore (CTRL+Space).
  6. Your files should be free of QA errors upon delivery. Either the errors should be fixed or marked as Ignore.
  7. Deliver/Return as normal.

Our QA Team will still do some last QA checks on all projects. But if you have run a spell checker in MemoQ, followed glossaries (if applicable) and run QA – there shouldn’t be any issues left.
If they find any errors, they will return the files to you in MemoQ and send you an email with issues that needs to be fixed.
Fix the issues and redeliver in MemoQ.

If you, as a freelancer are interested in learning how to use one of our QA tools, we will provide access and training, to limit the amount of possible issues, please contact our Vendor Manager (work@beconnected.no) who will provide you with more information.

It is important to remember that this is not a step to make things difficult for you.
This is a step to help you deliver the best possible product, and for BeConnected to deliver the best possible product to it’s clients.

We expect you to take this step seriously, and as part of the projects you are working on.
If you follow glossaries, instructions, run spell checks and run QA in MemoQ, you will most probably never get any reports back from the QA team.

We also expect you to be available within 3 hours after you project deadline to fix any issues that our QA team may have found. The issues need to be commented on/corrected within the next hour, after you receive the report.

If you foresee any problems in regards to this QA step, i.e. you have an appointment or other arrangement during this 3 hour time frame, let us know – so we can agree on a different time frame.

If you have any feedback or comments about this QA procedure, please contact: info@beconnected.no

Thank you for your cooperation! 🙂
